Right-click on the file and click Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and make sure there is a tick in the "Run in Compatibility Mode for:" checkbox. Click on the drop-down menu underneath the checkbox line and click on Windows 2000/NT4 or Windows XP. Click Apply then Ok. Try running the program again. If this still doesn’t work send me an email telling me what programs won’t run and make sure you include the file extensions (such as .exe, .com and .bat). My email is jaym...@yahoo.com.au
Xp does not suppot dos, there is no version of dos on it, and anything you have that requires dos to run it will no longer work. XP is the operating system, we as with 98 and 95 they were not truely the operating system since they required a dos background to work. sorry
Thats why to me Win XP is a disadvantage as what tekinstaller said.
XP does not support MS-DOS.
You could get an old hard drive and run Win98 or Dos in that. When you want to run the DOS programs, you can boot to the second hard drive.
XP will run some DOS programs and games,, if it won’t work by going to the c:\ then try going to Start, Accessories, then Compatability Mode which is used for this purpose! very old programs will not run!!!
