LanTopolog tries to discover all devices on your local network, and then makes a map of it.
How cool is that?
I remember the functionallity in some old (pre M$) version of Visio, but haven't found it later.
This software can be very useful for network administrators on a budget, or just as a quickfire LAN scanner.
It uses SNMP, but also ICMP(ping), and even has a web interface, monitoring/alerting functionality.
Not at all a bad piece of freeware, although the interface feels a bit unpolished.
Maybe we'll see some nice export features in the next version?
